This weekend we brought Rolling Greens to Hedley & Bennett and donned their headquarters with our holiday decor! Following an amazing first partnership experience during which we dreamed up the magical aprons worn by our baristas, our friendship and creative collaboration with Hedley & Bennett has only continued to blossom! This holiday season we got the chance to sit down and have a creative brainstorm session with both of our teams that led to ideas like joining forces for our Holiday Premiere, talking to different chefs for book signings, decorating brunches for Hedley & Bennett founder, Ellen Bennett, and so much more. After the H&B Team came to our Holiday Premiere, we had a handful of reasons to be thankful and so, we launched into full styling and decorating mode to transform their warehouse into a winter spectacle! Our focus? To have fun and spread holiday cheer in the most unique and innovative way!

The decorating extravaganza was a true team effort! We began by framing huge and lush faux garlands around the top of their tree house. Garlands have always been a hassle free and beautiful option for seasonal décor, with fresh wreaths as additional go-to favorite, noted for their incredible smell! The various holiday wreath workshops taking place this year at Rolling Greens have inspired us to get especially crafty this year!

Using the Hedley & Bennett crates, we created an entrance vignette with their new linens and textiles. Mini faux trees in an array of sizes and containers, placed in odd-numbered groupings, added in the touch of greenery and made for a fun and interesting composition! To finish off the entrance, we created mini faux arrangements in their front planter boxes—because nothing goes better together like frosty white-flocked greens and red spray berries!

We conquered their huge 12’ tree next, created with our faux greenery and cutting boards! We decided to make faux food the focus of our ornamentation. As Ellen says, “Food brings people together,” and we couldn’t agree more! After we used varying sizes of ornaments in gold, white and red to create our base, we went wild with accents of frosted okra, artichokes, berries, frosted tillandsia, giant snowflakes, and flocked branches!

Although this faux tree was already complete with lights, we have found that the key to successfully decorating a Christmas tree this big is to always start with the lights!

ESSENTIAL TREE-STYLING TIPS

Start Big | When our team decorates a tree we start with the biggest items first and make sure to spread those items out in a diamond-shaped pattern, that way they are evenly spaced and the tree is balanced.

Fill It In | The next step is then to fill in the rest of any negative space with the next size down of items, and arrange them in the same diamond pattern until you run out of your pieces!

Make It Secure | Lastly, we use our floral wire to secure any remaining fragile pieces. That way, those little guys will never come loose!

We finished our tree with beautiful hanging baskets and stocked them with Hedley & Bennett linens in red and coral tones. Our finishing touches were made with the bright and fun strap rolls, used to make a gorgeous rippled effect around the tree.

To wrap everything up, went to the picnic benches and arranged florals with linens and napkin alongside La Colombe Coffee steaming draft lattes. If you haven’t tried one of their draft lattes—you are truly missing out!  Steaming cortados, pretty plates and cedar cuttings all made their way onto some really fun tablescapes!

We couldn’t be happier or more excited about how H&B’s warehouse turned out for the holidays and we can’t wait until the next season so we can come in and play all over again!
